The Founding team

Jonathan Baran: Co-founder, CEO 
The first company Jonathan co-founded and led was Healthfinch. Healthfinch’s technology is used by many nationally recognized healthcare organizations to automate prescription refill requests and pre-visit planning.

Healthfinch pioneered the concept of an “app” company for the electronic medical record. As CEO, Healthfinch became a leader in the Epic App Orchard, athenahealth Marketplace, and Allscripts App Store. In addition, Healthfinch was recognized as a “Cool Vendor” by Gartner, “Top Emerging Vendor” by KLAS, and one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work”.

Jonathan led Healthfinch in raising $15M+ in venture capital. Healthfinch was acquired in 2020 by HealthCatalyst.

Tyler Marklein: Co-founder 

Tyler is an entrepreneur known as an industry-wide expert for bringing innovative healthcare applications to market. Tyler has worked with many healthcare startups - big and small - in overcoming the many obstacles in making a vision a reality in a healthcare setting. 

Tyler played a major role in bringing Healthfinch’s product to market. During his leadership, Tyler took the team from startup to being one of the top companies on the athenahealth Marketplace, winning the athenahealth Innovation Award in 2018.

Mark Bakken: Board Member

For industry observers, Mark needs no introduction. Mark is currently the Managing Partner of HealthX Ventures, but Mark is also a serial entrepreneur.

Collectively, Mark’s companies have done over $360 million in sales and raised more than $38 million in venture capital, and he has successfully bought and/or sold eight companies.

Among Mark’s previous companies is Nordic Consulting Partners, the industry leader in EHR consulting services to organizations using Epic. As CEO, Mark helped Nordic achieve a #1 in KLAS ranking, where it has remained since 2012. Nordic now has over 700 consultants working across 44 states. In 2014, the company was recognized as the 46th fastest growing company in the U.S.
